How it works
- You book online and receive a QR-code e-ticket in the GetYourGuide app.
- Open the app at the tram, bus or metro reader. Hold the screen up to the scanner.
- The ticket validates and starts counting from your chosen time slot.
- No voucher exchange. No physical card.
- Always scan from the GetYourGuide app — never Apple Wallet, never a PDF, never a screenshot. If the QR is triggered from the wrong app, you can be charged twice. iPhone users: after the NFC warning pops up, close and reopen the ticket in the GetYourGuide app to enable the NFC blocker.
- You still check in AND out on every ride. Even on a multi-day ticket. This is GVB's standard and reviewers find it annoying — but missing a check-out triggers a penalty fare.
- QR scanners sometimes need a second tap. If the reader hesitates, hold the screen still or try the next door — it's a known minor friction across all reviewers.
- NOT the airport train. Bus 369 (Sloterdijk → Schiphol) is the only airport line covered. If you want the direct train: Travel Ticket.
