Prices
Live prices below. We pull them directly from GetYourGuide; if anything is out of date here, the price on GetYourGuide is what counts.
- 1 day: from €20
- 2 days: from €27
- 3 days: from €34
Children under 4 ride free. Children 4–11 need their own ticket — there is no child variant of the Travel Ticket; use the GVB Day Ticket Child (€5) per day instead.
How it works
- You book online and receive a voucher (PDF or in the GetYourGuide app).
- Before your first ride, swap the voucher for an OV-chipkaart at one of the listed machines at Schiphol or Amsterdam Centraal. Step-by-step guide.
- Tap the card on every vehicle when boarding and getting off, including when changing operators.
- Schiphol is the endpoint. If your hotel is in Hoofddorp (one station further), you'll pay an extra €4.30 for that hop. Several reviewers got caught by this. If you might travel to Hoofddorp, Haarlem or Zandvoort: the Region Travel Ticket is worth the small price difference.
- Voucher exchange can be confusing. Reviewers say the machines work most of the time but the layout at Schiphol can be hard to find. If a machine doesn't cooperate, just walk to the NS Service & Ticket counter — it's 24/7.
- Tap on AND off every time. Each switch between train, tram, bus or metro needs a fresh check-in. Missing a check-out triggers a penalty fare.
